essie gel couture timeless tweeds
TGIF and say hello to essie gel couture timeless tweeds!
essie gel couture timeless tweeds is their take on not not-so-neutral classics in pinks and browns. There are four cremes and two shimmers in the collection and I definitely get Chanel tweed suit vibes from the shades.
Nearly all six of these covered nicely with two coats. One was a three-coater though, and a bit problematic for me. More on that later!

polished and poised
polished and poised is a light warmish pink creme. This is two coats.

woven with wisdom
woven with wisdom is a cool toned medium pink creme. This is two coats.

not what it seams
not what it seams is a muted neutral plum creme. This is two coats.

wool me over
wool me over is a warm toned taupe creme. This is two coats.

down to the herringbone
down to the herringbone is a shimmery antique gold. This is three coats.

all i tweed
all i tweed is a medium warm toned brown with heavy golden shimmer. This is two coats. You getting any tweed-y vibes yet? Ok so the problematic one for me was down to the herringbone. From the bottle I did notice that the shimmer all sank to the bottom and I had to really roll and shake it to get it mixed up. Even after that it was VERY watery and sheer, even after three coats. And you can see how it was so sheer it just didn’t cover my nail edges. So that was disappointing.
On the bright side all the other shades had a great formula and were really pretty. Of course THE stand-out for me (as usual) is the shimmery all i tweed, which is also rather unique.
You can find the essie gel couture timeless tweeds collection starting in January on their site and in stores and salons.
Whaddya think about these shades?
